In my attempt to be aware of the NOW as it presses around me, I seek to really make observations that trigger my intent to sense the NOW as completely as I can.
Today, while walking towards my home, treading atop the soggy yet crusty soil, I saw indentations. There was no doubt that the scattered depressions that I saw were made by the hooves of deer.
This idea is conceivable as I reside on a property that abuts a creek. Throughout the year, deer will visit, linger, nibble and even give birth as I observed last summer.
But, for today's observation I saw the hoofprints of deer, rhythmically stretching across the yard. There was a absolute grounding of my mind and embracing of the joy I felt at that moment...viewing the paw prints.
Thanking God for the view, for the land, for the glimpse of nature that absolutely imprints itself upon and within me. The NOW riveted to the beauty of the earth's soil gives me gratitude for this day.
